This article covers these topics :

1. How does the tracking page work?
2. Embed the tracking page on your website: A. With Shipup JS or B. With Shopify
3. Configure the tracking page hosted by Shipup
4. Enable/disable the tracking page on notifications

1. How does the tracking page work ?

The tracking page works with a URL associated with a variable :

https://www.yoursite.com/tracking-page/?trackerUuid=XXXXXX

On the right of the "?" is a variable or a combination of variables that will make a call on our API. These variables are:

  • The "trackerUuid" which corresponds to an internal key to Shipup to recognize a package and which is used in our emails.
  • The order number and parcel number associated with the email or postal code as validation variables.

There are 2 ways to embed the tracking page on your website :

  1. Use the hosted tracking page automatically created by Shipup
  2. Embed your tracking page on your website via Shopify or ShipupJS

2. Embed the tracking page on your website

2.A. Embed your tracking page on your website using ShipupJS

The integration via our Shipup JS library involves creating a page and adding a script on this page:

By clicking on this button, your public key on Shipup API will appear.

Once the URL is created, do not forget to replace the existing one (shipup URL) here.

Note: You can integrate the tracking page :

  • Either on your customer account
  • Either on the order confirmation email by using the variables of identification "package number" + "email address" in the URL.

In cases where you embed the tracking page on your website, it is possible that this page is declined in different URL, as for example to manage different languages.

Example:

FR => https://www.cabaia.fr/pages/suivi-colis
COM => https://www.cabaia.com/pages/tracking

You can manage these redirections using Liquid. In this case, do not hesitate to contact us at success@shipup.co or on the chat. We will help you for the set-up.

2.B. Embed your tracking page on your website with Shopify

It's easy, just sign in to Shopify using this link and follow the instructions.

You will be asked :

  • The domain of your e-store
  • The name you want to give to the page of your tracking page. "tracking page" is a good name.

⚠️ WARNING: if you are using the test version of Shopify, it is not always possible to see the tracking page.

3. Configure the tracking page hosted by Shipup

The advantage of using the tracking page hosted by Shipup is that it is already created and ready to be enabled.
The disadvantage is that it will not be embedded on your website, it will be a unique URL.

Set-up your hosted tracking page by clicking here:

  • Use the link next to the first arrow
  • Copy into the case next to the second arrow
  • Turn 'ON' Replace carriers
  • Click 'Update'

And voila! Your tracking page is live!
